Camping at Sheep Falls

(Click on the pictures if you want to see them in more detail.)

Last week, we took Hannah on her first camping trip. She loved being outside for 2 full days and having an excuse to get dirty.

The morning of, I told Hannah that we'd be sleeping outside in a tent. She seemed really excited & said all day,"momma - sleep tent!" When we finally got to our camp site (in the middle of nowhere with no facilities), Hannah was stoked to finally see the tent set up.

She loved watching the fire, picking wild flowers & going for a "fwing" in the hammock. Daddy even taught her to shoot the BB gun. Please don't freak out! It was perfectly safe!

We let her stay up late, but she didn't make it to the smores. Hannah was tuckered out from the first day. Getting her to sleep was tough. She was just so full of excitement & adrenaline! It was a pretty chilly night. By morning, we were all snuggled together on Logan's pillow.

The next morning, we had a yummy breakfast of "Dough Boys" (roasted biscuit dough on a stick), scrambled eggs, sausage & fruit. I made a smore for Hannah, since she didn't get one the night before. Boy did she like it! While she was eating, the entire smore sandwich actually got stuck to her face. I was wondering why she wasn't lowering it between bites!

Our main event for the day was a short hike down to Sheep Falls. We strapped Hannah to Logan's back & off we went with our picnic lunch. Hannah really enjoyed the hike & riding on "Daddy's shoulders."

By the falls, we had a yummy lunch & Hannah claimed her rock. She climbed all over, looking for pine cones & sticking them in her ears. Not sure why that seemed like the logical thing to do with a pine cone.

Afterward, we headed home with our grubby little Hannah. It was a short, but enjoyable trip. Can't wait until next time!
